These should be easy

Post by required_alias »

For reasons unimportant here, my phone totally died. Lost all data. Bought a Samsung Alpha, Android 4.4.4.
Trying to rebuild DW Contacts. If spent 2-3 hours (literally) trying to rebuild it but can't find settings I thought would be easy. Yes, I've checked the web site.
How do I set DWC so it always opens to the Favorites screen?
When I open a Contact, the message option is missing. I have to select a contact, press Dial, end call, and then I get a message option. How do I get the Message option when I first open a contact?
I THINK I had DW Dialer on my home screen and I THINK it included a missed call counter. Am I right/wrong? Can't find it now. If not, please recommend a Missed Call widget with a counter.

Settings - Tab settings - Default View

Do you mean the SMS tab?

This feature requires system support.

Regardless which tab I select, I get "Contacts."

I'm guessing 'yes.' I want to open a contact, select an icon?, and send a text message.

And where do I get system support? Are you saying this feature is controlled by the phone's sw?

An update. After a reboot, Favorites is now my default tab. Should have tried that after the first 5 failures.

SMS tab. It appears when I select a contact from Favorites. It doesn't appear when I one one in the Contacts screen.
