A task/reminder list similar to the events list

Post by taqiyuddin » Sat Sep 08, 2012 8:49 pm

Hi!
I love the events list! but i seem to be using the event list like a task and reminder list for my contacts. I would put in new tasks to my contact to remind me of things i need to do for them after i called or receive a call from them. But I know the events list is actually for keeping track of anniversary because it only allows for one description field which is also the event's title.

I think a task or reminder list for each contact would be really handy to have.

The task list could be similar to the events list but with these extra features;
  • Task triggers once and is not permanent
  • Each task should have Title, Comments/Note field, in addition to the date field
  • Can be marked as completed and not shown in the global task list
  • The app should have an option to prompt user with the creation of new task/reminder for the contact after incoming and outgoing calls
Thank you in advance!

Hello
Thanks for your advice, I will improve it in future versions. Now it uses the Android database. Can not provide these options. If we need these features, we need our own savings data. These data will not be synchronized.

This could be done using Google Tasks (a simple could service somewhat related to Google Contacts and Google Calendar), so it could be synchronized in the Google cloud, the same way as contacts are.

The only thing that Google Tasks currently does not do is associate tasks with contacts, but this could be accomplished by using a specific tasks category for the contacts and a well-formatted informative title (or other field) for the tasks.

Yes, I know.Google tasks are not synchronized to the phone. If I need to access it, I need to access the network.Perhaps some the PRO users do not want to see the permissions.
May require a separate synchronization software.

This would be a good feature indeed because task sync apps are separately available on the market. I sync my windows live data (Google contacts, anniversary, birthday, calendar, tasks, email sync disabled). I guess it functions via the contacts and dialer in phone to dw contacts phone. It works smoothly.

Realize this is a pretty old thread...

Would it be possible to add the reminder option to the list of long-press/hold choices for a contact? After years of struggling with getting a task application to sync with contacts, this option would have all contact-related tasks, reminders, events within DW contacts. Then I would use a separate task list for everything else (easier to keep work separate anyway).

Great app, worth the pro-version. Every time I research a full CRM solution, I always come back to using your contact manager. Also thanks for all your e-mail replies in the past.

Thank you, I'll add it in the next release.
