Divert all Contacts in a Group to Voicemail.

Post by pollensa1946 »

In the same way that you have added the option to "Automatically delete call logs" for a Group, is it possible to add the option "Divert all Contacts in a Group to Voicemail"? This would be best I think in the long press of a Group option list and available as a tick-box for ON/OFF.
I am interested in a feature that would allow me to set up a Group and then at certain times or days I would divert all calls to that group to Voicemail. Let's say I'm in a meeting where I only want to take calls from close family members, all my other contacts are in a Group that has been diverted. I know I can do this for each individual contact, that takes lots of time setting ON and OFF, but doing it as a Group would be so much easier.

Hello
Using call filter can do this. When a group is to intercept incoming calls will be forwarded to voicemail. But I'm not sure because I'm just judging by the code. This is my place, operators do not offer voicemail.

Ah, OK, I missed that feature in Call Filter. I will try it out. Great, thanks.

I tried the Group Divert in Call Filter and it did not work. I know that Call Filter did work on my phone in the past for other categories like Anonymous Incoming or the Block List as I have been using these for a while. It simply did not work for Group Divert.
To test I set up a simple Group with 1 Contact (my home phone) and entered that Group into the Call Filter Group Divert. I rang my mobile and it rang out as normal. As a further test I entered my home number into the Block List of numbers and again called, and again it rang out as normal. As a final test I went into Contact Details and set my home number to Voicemail, again it rang out as normal. Strange! The Voicemail divert worked in the past, what has changed?

If you set the "Send to Voicemail" in the contact details, does not work. This should be a system failure. This transfer is performed by the system.

You're right. I did some Google and this particular phone is a PAYG and the network it's on does not allow control of divert for PAYG phones. Thanks.

Can we update this topic?

My former phone (Samsung) had a quick menu to stop incoming calls from anyone that is not "*" in contacts. This is same as group.
Very quick and easy to block incoming calls from everyone not having stars. This quick menu was not inside contacts app, nor inside phone app, and was very convenient to toggle on/off from "Settings Quick Menu".

My account was PAYG and all blocked calls we unanswered. Vodafone took care of un answered calls

I got a new phone (unfortunately not Samsung) and now I want to do same blocking. I have paid version of DW Contacts + Dialler.
Please tell me how to set it up to not-answer - or perhaps silent ringing - from a Group like "do not disturb", or if not with star *.

Hello
It can only intercept contact belongs to a group.
Toolbox - Call filter - Add rule.

Thanks
I added a Group called "Do Not Disturb" and appended this Group to some of the Contacts.
Now I can toggle Call Filter on/off, which seems to work.
I set Call Filter action to Reject.
When Call Filter is ON, all Contacts with Group tag "Do Not Disturb" go straight to voice mail automatically.
