Hello,
Can I make the program start every time in "Search view" ?
Meaning that every time i start DWP, it will be in "Search Mode". So then I would enter the contact name and it starts filtering the contacts for me and then I choose which one to open. Since I have over 1000 contacts it is much easier each time to start at the search view to get the contact I want.
How to change how DWP starts every time. Or is there a widget or icon I can download?
Thanks

Hello
Modify the settings here
It can open the Search tab, and set as the default tab.
Settings -> Tab settings
1.Sctivate & Sort
2.Default tab
You can also create search TAB shortcut to the home page.
By holding down the search icon in the toolbox.

Re: Startup view
so can that toolbox shortcut start it with the keypad up and ready to type in my search?
Re: Startup view
Hello,
That is great news...
Now then, can I make it startup with the Search function open with the "keyboard" up and ready to enter a contact name?
That would be really fast.
I mean I'm opening the contacts app to look for a contact, right. Then I have this little problem - I have over 1000 contacts to look through to get to the one I need... Having this app open with the search function and keyboard ready and all i have to do is enter a name and it matches as I type is nice and fast. I guess as fast as you can get (to do this function).
Thanks for the support.

Re: Startup view
Search for a contact, I want to use dial T9 search is a good choice.
Re: Startup view
create a "STARTUP LINK" on home screen is also a nive feature.
todo:
go to tab "toolbox" , then "long click" on wanted function (ie: "search"), then select create link on home screen.
you will like that, too.

Re: Startup view
Will this APP start a search with the keyboard up and all I have to do is type the contact name to complete the search?
I am trying to eliminate keystrokes, so that I can do a quick search.

Re: Startup view
Hi,
You can start with the Dialler up, by setting "Tab settings | Default tab" to Phone, and "Phone settings | Start dialer without dialer pad" set Off.
Not sure if you can make it default to the keyboard tho.
However, I use DWC ALL THE TIME. I use it mostly in the car, in a phone cradle. I almost never use type-based searching because it's too hard, too tedious.
There are, in my view, much better and quicker ways to find my contacts. I usually use Organizations as my starting point.
Is there a way to break down your contacts into groups by some parameter? E.g Would Organization work for you?
There is also another way, which may be useful, if you can divide up your contacts somehow?
Cheers,
Al
