filtering based on group

Is it possible to filter my contact list based on group? For example, consider a phone with 3 groups: starred, friends, commercial. I don't want to display the contacts that are flagged as strictly commercial. I want to view those in friends and starred. If a contact is in commercial and friends (or starred), it would be displayed. Is this sort of filtering available? This isn't the same as selecting whether or not to display certain accounts.
