How to return to the call screen?

People,

I have been using this app for a while now (in a very basic way - ie I am not making use of all it's features yet) and although I think the intuitiveness needs to be improved, I am convinced that it is worth persisting until I learn more and make better use of the app. However, I have been caught a few times now when talking to someone, then needing to do something else (like look up a contacts number or something) and then not being able to get back to the active call screen - eg just to be able to end the call. I have even tried ringing my land line a few times and tried to work it out but haven't gotten anywhere - I presume it is something easy that I am just not seeing?

This functionality is provided by the system. You can usually in the system status bar, re-enter the call interface.
