DWP

I have about 145 conatacts with photos.
They are organized in different groups.
For example
group1
conatact 1
conatact 2
etc.
group2.subgroup
conatact 1
conatact 3
etc.
More groups and contacts

When I switch between group1 and group2.subgroup the photos of the contacts aren't showing.
First the photo of one contact is missing, then of two contacts and so on.
The "contact manager" 100% of cpu.
I must then restart the phone.

I reinstalled the contact manager => same problem
I erased all contact data and synchronized them new => same problem

With Version 2.03 I never see this problem

I use the Motorola Defy. With the "stock conatact manager" I don't have this problem.

Any ideas?

we are talking about "DW Contact & Phone in version 2.0.4 ? (because Contact manager is the old version 1.x, on 2.x we changed the app name)

first - some question:
which device do you have ?
which ROM ?
Which android version ?

you have 2 groups (group1 + group2), and "group2" have a sub-group (group2_1).
if you are viewing items on "group1" - do you see there a picture on contacts ?
if you are viewing items on "group2" - do you see there a picture on contacts ?
if you are viewing items on "group2_1" - do you see there a picture on contacts ?

How do you view it in DWC - on tab "Contacts" or only on the relation screen ?
maybe you can make screenshots ?

Yes, it's "DW Contact & Phone in version 2.0.4"

My device is a Motorola Defy, Stock Rom, Froyo 2.2.2

I tested it in version 2.0.4 pro again.

My startregister is "Groups".
I click on the group "Di.....ry"
The contacts are showed
I scroll very fast to the end of the list
=>2 photos are missing

If I scroll slowly (contact after contact) to the end
=>all photos are here

If I do that in different groups, the Defy begins to lag...

In 2.0.3 free there is no problem at all.

2.03 Pro - you can'T get this version any more ...

i must look into ...
we are working very hard on next version 2.0.5, where the pictures are complete rewrote, maybe then it is working, but we need some time for finish it + testing.
sorry, i think in 2-3weeks the new version should be ready.
then let us try it there ...
(hopefully you can live with it ...)
if wanted, you can send me your email address - maybe you can test the developer version, if the problem still exist there ...

this bug is very very bad ... and the real problem i can not replay this ... because i don't have this bug...

which device ?
which rom ?
which kernel ?
which android system ?

the only idea is, that maybe there is a problem with your gaphic engine ?

can you make a video ?
this problem was not on 2.0.4 ?
which changes are made on your system where you go to 2.0.5 ?

can you try the attached older devel version ? is there also the issue ?

Also your "DW Contact & Phone version 2.0.3 free" works perfect at this moment.

But since the version "DW Contact & Phone version 2.0.4" there is a problem with the pictures.

Probably it is because you changed drawing of the images in version 2.0.4?

thanks for the tip, this is maybe an idea, because on old version, there was an extra frame which reserved memory for a picture, which was loading if the screen is quiet ... and now it will load the pictures faster .... and if the pictures are loading and someone start scrolling, then maybe it have something todo with the refresh ...
strange is, that i heard from another application, which also had problems on 2.2.2 ...
is it anyhow possible to update to a newer android system for your device ? (2.3.x) ?
(it would be fine, to know, if the bug is then fixed - and if it is a android 2.2.2 related bug ...)

But there is still the same error.

There are now other contacts where the image is missing. But the the defy still hangs...

By the way. When I send you the serialnumber of my Defy can you send me a registrykey?
So I can use the 2.03+ instead of the 2.05pro?
