Why do twitter contacts show up?

Set my account data to only gmail and my twitter contacts still show up. This is a lot of clutter when searching. How do I only allow my gmail contacts to show.

1.) see account data
settings -> account data . enable only your wanted account
also it can be filtered by your android system filter
2.) see system filter:
settings -> global settings -> Contact display filtering
