Whenever I want to dial, I'm prompted to select a phone but the DWdialer is not listed. Only phone and Callcentric (a SIP VOIP phone).
What do I need to do to make and receive calls using the DWdialer?

for calling the system API will be used. so the call itself will be also done by phone API. this is normal, but i don'T know from where are you click on a number ?
so, please describe what you do ?

From the DWP I always get the same prompt to select a phone from any possible options including using the DWP dial pad, favorites, selecting a number of a contact, etc.
So, as I understood from your reply, the DWP will always copy any selected number to the selected phone to make the call?

almost correct.
the outgoing call itself can only be done by SYSTEM app -> SYSTEM ANDROID phone api
so, this is normal. if you are having 2 system apps installed which can handle an outgoing call, then you will be asked.
if you remove the SIP dialer, then you will not be asked.
if you will be asked every time, then something must be installed on your phone extra, because normally this won'T be
