"Tab Settings > Always start with default tab" is UNchecked

When I click notification for missed call and choose DW Contacts, I still get phone tab.
When I open App Drawer > DW Contacts, I still get phone tab.

Hello, this is because the call records TAB does not open.
Phone tab can display the call log, so open up the phone tab
Please try to set to show the call records TAB.

My apologies. I have two different problems.
First is like you said. Call log tab doesn't open. Sometimes it opens for one moment, then it disappears and switches to Phone tab.

Second problem is the DW Contacts shortcut in App Drawer. This shortcut does not go to Contacts. It still opens phone tab. I do NOT have default phone tab set, but every time I open DW Contacts the Phone tab is default anyway.

DWC has two start icon.One used to start the dialer, and another is used to start the program and open the default TAB.
About to open the history TAB.
Press the Menu button in the toolbox TAB.
Select "Activate & Sort"
Then selected the history TAB.

Is there a way to delete the entire call log or to stop the sms log from appearing in the call log altogether?

this is a knowing bug of ICS, ICS do handle the SMS logs in the same db as call logs.
we will try to fix it - or google msut fix it.
