Can you lose groups/ contacts if phone is broken or lost.

I run a business and do not want to switch to apple but would rather have an app that can do basically the same thing as apple if not be similar to it. My phone was recently broke and my phone is for personal and business. I have hundreds of contacts in there. With apple when you get a new phone everything is saved into itunes which makes things easy especially for business owners cuz everything syncs up contacts, groups, and all. Now with android you get to keep your contacts but you lose all of your groups that your grouped your contacts into. If i use this app and put all of my business contacts and groups into it and if something happens to my phone (android) again will this app have all contacts and groups so when i get the new phone i can sync it up to it or would i have to put in all of the info again???????
