For contacts with multiple telephone numbers, how do I control which of those numbers is selected by the sliding action on the contacts list?

I have contacts with as many as five telephone numbers; there seems to be no pattern, rhyme, or reason as far as which of those numbers is selected by the sliding action.

Hello
It will use the default number. Hold down the number in the contact details, then you can set it as the default.
If you want to select another number, sliding to the right, then down.
