I must be being thick, but I cannot for the life of me find any place to set VOIP accounts nor to call anyone using VOIP. Can anyone help?

Hello
You need third-party applications. Press and hold the dial button, you can select the dialing mode.

On this subject, I notice that your Google Play description states that DWP supports BT SmartTalk. I have BT ST installed but no option is offered by DWP.

I get a pop-up...

Automatic redial
Phone (SIP) com.android.server.telecom
Phone com.android.server.telecom
Phone com.android.server.telecom
Same as Contact Details and long-pressing the number. All of the choices result in the confirmation screen (strangely with no count-down) and when confirmed the normal dial-out screen.
