call history and SMS function

I assume my app was updated automatically; in the About, it now shows version Pro 3.1.8.1 I have read that the call history and SMS function had to be disabled due to restrictions by Google Play.
Are those functions also disabled for the Pro version?
If so, how can I get back to the previous version, without the risk of loosing my contact data?
BTW, I cannot set the app as default in my application manager.
